Our process when installing Quartz countertop

Our Process

1. Find Your Inspiration

Stop by our showroom and bring along some photos and dimensions of your space. Speak with our sales team who will lend their knowledge and experience to help you select the materials for your inspiration to become a project reality. We encourage customers to visit our showroom to ask questions and see our material options. As you walk through our vast selection of natural stone and solid surface options, our sales team will discuss your ideas and options.

2. Choosing Your Material and Preliminary Quote

After you narrow your material choices, we will discuss the details of your project and create an estimate for your project. These details could include such things as your sink selection, cooktop/type of range, backsplash, edge profile, overhang, etc. After discussing sizing and options, we will provide you with a preliminary estimate for the project.

3. Custom Template

We will visit the space and create a custom template of your cabinetry and confirm the final details. Before measurement/templating, ensure that all cabinetry is installed and level, all plumbing is disconnected, and all appliances are in place. Please have available on site all items which may require cut-outs from the countertop (sinks, faucets, cooktops, water dispensers, soap dispensers, disposal switches, etc.) To ensure proper fabrication, we must have specs for all items that affect cut-outs. Apron and farm sinks must be installed before Preferred Surfaces arrives for final measurement/templating.

Someone with decision-making authority should be on site during templating to approve the final measurement/template and make decisions such as countertop overhang, corner styles, radius dimensions, bump-outs, etc. There are many details to consider, and Preferred Surfaces would like to make sure your new countertops meet your expectations.

4. Fabrication

After the final details of your project have been confirmed, we will begin fabrication of your countertops in our specialized, facility. We will prepare a layout and consider the location of seams, veins, and patterning, etc. We believe that our attention to detail when preparing the layout is an element of our process that contributes to a high level of customer satisfaction.

5. Installation

Our experienced team of installers will expertly place the countertops in your home or business with care. We recognize that new countertops are an investment, and we value the opportunity to work on your project. Please ensure that your site is ready for access before we arrive for installation.

At Preferred Surfaces, we offer a turn-key process for material selection, templating, and installation. We work with customers who wish to be involved in every step of the project, and also with those who prefer for us to handle the details. Whatever the scope of your project, we look forward to working with you.
